About digital transformation
What is digital transformation in IT?
Digital transformation in IT is the redesign of how technology services are delivered and managed, using modern platforms, better processes and automation. It typically covers service management, asset management, data, automation and the operating model, with the aim of making IT faster, cheaper and more reliable for the business.
Why do digital transformation programmes fail?
Most fail for organisational reasons rather than technical ones: unclear goals, weak programme governance, poor data, processes copied unchanged onto a new platform, and too little attention to training and adoption. OG Phoenix addresses each of these explicitly in the assessment, design and embed stages of every engagement.
How long does a digital transformation take?
It depends on scope. A focused assessment and roadmap usually takes a matter of weeks, while a full platform and process transformation runs over several months in phases. We always plan visible quick wins in the first phase so value appears early, and we give a firm timeline in the proposal after the consultation.
ServiceNow and IT service management
What is ITSM?
IT service management (ITSM) is the set of practices an organisation uses to design, deliver and support IT services, including incident, service request, change, problem and knowledge management. ITIL 4 is the most widely used ITSM framework, and ServiceNow is one of the leading ITSM platforms.
What is enterprise service management (ESM)?
Enterprise service management (ESM) extends the practices of IT service management to other teams that provide services, such as HR, facilities, finance and legal. Employees get one place to ask for help, and every team works from shared processes, data and reporting, usually on a platform such as ServiceNow.
Can you fix a ServiceNow implementation that is not delivering value?
Yes. ServiceNow recovery is one of our core services. We run a health check covering process design, configuration, data quality, CMDB, reporting and adoption, then deliver a prioritised recovery plan. Many issues come from processes that were never redesigned or data that was never cleaned, and both can be fixed without starting again.
Are you a ServiceNow partner or reseller?
No. OG Phoenix Consulting provides independent advisory and programme leadership. We can help you select and manage an implementation partner, and we work alongside your existing partner if you already have one.
IT asset management
What is the difference between ITAM and SAM?
IT asset management (ITAM) covers all IT assets, both hardware and software, across their full lifecycle. Software asset management (SAM) is the part of ITAM focused on software licences, entitlements and compliance. Most organisations need both, because software licensing often depends on the hardware it is installed on.
How does IT asset management reduce costs?
IT asset management reduces costs by finding unused and duplicate software licences, right-sizing subscriptions, extending hardware life where sensible, avoiding audit penalties, and giving procurement accurate data for renewal negotiations. The size of the saving depends on how mature your current asset data is, which is what our assessment establishes first.
Automation and AI
Where should we start with automation and Generative AI?
Start with high-volume, rules-based tasks that already have clean inputs, such as ticket routing, user onboarding, access requests and knowledge search. We score candidate use cases by effort, value and risk, deliver one or two quickly to prove the benefit, then scale from there with proper governance.
Is it safe to use Generative AI with company data?
It can be, with the right controls. We design AI solutions with data privacy, access control and human review built in, and we help you set clear acceptable-use guidelines so staff know what is and is not allowed.
Working with OG Phoenix
Do you work with clients in other countries?
Yes. OG Phoenix Consulting is set up to work remotely with organisations in any region. Meetings are scheduled around your working hours, and on-site visits can be arranged for key workshops where they add value.
How much does a consulting engagement cost?
Fees depend on scope and duration. After a free consultation, you receive a written proposal with a fixed fee for defined deliverables, or a capped day rate for ongoing programme support, so there are no surprises.
What size of organisation do you work with?
We work best with mid-sized and large organisations that run a dedicated IT function, as well as growing companies preparing to scale their IT operations. The common thread is a real operational problem and leadership that wants it solved.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within two to three weeks of an agreed proposal, depending on current commitments. Urgent programme recovery work can sometimes start sooner.
What happens after the project ends?
Before we leave, we build continuous improvement and proactive risk management into your business-as-usual processes, so your own team keeps the gains and spots risks early. After go-live we provide hypercare, a defined support period agreed in the proposal, and then step back once the operation runs smoothly without us.
